Overhead Door Technician

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, career oriented individuals to work under the direction of the Service Managers in our Grande Prairie and Fort St John locations as Overhead Door Technicians

Duties and Responsibilities

A typical day begins at our shop with a caffeine jolt, a restock of service vehicles, and assignment of daily service calls. Technicians then travel to 4-6 customer locations within our service area where they:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and make repairs
  • Sell parts, fill out paperwork to document the superb work being performed
  • Helpfully answering customer questions, providing technical support and customer education!

Sounds like a great job right! Additional calls along a route may be added if they come in, so be prepared to have a bit of variety added to your day. A day ends by driving straight home and putting your feet up!

Skills/Experience

  • Previous or related experience is an asset
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Ability follow directions and standard operating procedures.
  • Mechanically inclined with a knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints an asset.
  • Ability to use hand held tools, saws, routers, cutting tools as well as measuring equipment such as tape measure.
  • Valid safety tickets in the following are an asset, but not necessary for consideration:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Dedicated commitment to safety and customer service

Working Conditions:

  • Required to work in all weather conditions
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting 60 lbs repeatedly
  • Comfortable working at heights up to 30 feet, and climbing ladders up to 20 feet
  • Work “on call” as required/scheduled
